real pearl, very nice necklace, very pleased My 3 sisters, 2 daughters and I received these for Christmas from Mom & Dad. the pearl is in the mollusk in the can. You get to pry open the mollusk shell and find your unique real pearl. We had all different sizes and mine was oval shaped.
