Not knotted individually. I have bought about 6 malas off amazon now and only one satisfied my expectations. My advice to you is either make your own (really easy to do) or find a mala in a small business’ store. This is a quality product, beads are very nice quality and the tassle looks and feels sturdy. The bad part is that they are not each individually knotted, very disapppointed that its this good of quality but missing a major part of a mala. Its hard to slide them through your fingers when the mala is not knotted…
