These 20 gauge rings are hypoallergenic and nickel free. They can be worn in a variety of 20 gauge body piercings.

Product Features

  • Made with surgical grade 316L Stainless Steel
  • 20 gauge 7/16″ (11 mm) rings with 4 mm balls
  • This hoop size (diameter) is most commonly worn in the ear lobes but can also be worn in other 20 gauge body piercings
  • Hypoallergenic and nickel free
  • How to Use a Captive Bead Ring: The ball has small indentations on either side which keep the ball securely in place between the hoop. To remove the ball, use the thumb and pointer finger to grasp it and pull away from the hoop. To put the ball back in, line up the indentations on the ball with the sides of the hoop and gently push in. For very thick gauge sizes, needle nose pliers are strongly recommended to remove the ball and place it back in due to the strength of the jewelry.

if you get easily frustrated, and have no experience with the catch … Ok, so I don’t do reviews very often, but hope this will be helpful to some. I am in my mid 50s, so please take that into account. Meaning that I wouldn’t normally wear this type of earring at all. I got my ears pierced, higher up the ear, near the cartilage, and I was having a hard time getting them to heal. Everyday earrings I bought several of these to keep all my ear piercings open, and they do just that. It took me a little practice working the ‘captive bead’ closure, but once I’d done it a couple times it got easier. A 20-gauge loop is about the gauge of a typical french hook or lever back stem for earrings, so it won’t stretch piercings at all. If you want a simple, sturdy loop that won’t snag on things or poke you in the head while you’re sleeping, this is the one.

Perfect for what I need! I have 2 cartilage piercings – one right under the other on the same ear- so I needed something light and not huge so I can wear both of them at the same time. I honestly forget they are there! A little annoying to put it- you need to line up the grooves of the beads with the steel hoop- but if you have patience (or a friend) you can get them in. I have had them in since I got them, sleep/shower/everything with them and they haven’t bothered me at all or fallen out.
